Macbook Mini Firmware & Improvements

Earlier this week, Apple released an EFI firmware update for the company’s current MacBook Air models, addressing issues with Lion Recovery over the Internet and Recent issues Several Thunderbolt-compatibility with the forthcoming Including Apple Display Thunderbolt. Apple has now Followed up that release with a pair of new firmware updates today Bringing the same fixes to the current MacBook Pro and Macbook mini models.

Mac mini EFI Firmware Update 1.3 (4.26 MB)

This update includes fixes that enhance the stability of Lion Recovery from an Internet connection, and resolve issues with Apple Thunderbolt Display compatibility and Thunderbolt Target Disk Mode performance on Macbook Mini (mid 2011) models.

Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.2 (4.17 MB)

This update enables Lion Recovery from an Internet connection and includes fixes That resolves issues with Apple Display compatibility Thunderbolt Thunderbolt Target Disk Mode and performance on MacBook Pro (early 2011) models.

It appears that the 2011 Macbook Mini is the best and fastest Macbook Mini yet, the exclusion of an optical drives allows you to add more data storage. So how can Apple improve the next 2012 Mini? I think they should remove the power supply unit or power brick outside the unit just like the older models so they can put a magsafe power port. This way Thunderbolt display users can connect the Macbook Mini like a Macbook Air and get rid of the Mini’s power cord, it will also make the 2012 Macbook Mini even smaller.
